Communities In Schools

Mission:
This organization seeks to surround students with a community of support and empower them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Volunteer Duties:
Spend one hour a week mentoring or tutoring a child at an elementary, middle or high school campus.
Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must fill out an application, provide three references, be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check.
Training:
Provided by Communities In Schools Mentoring staff
Time Commitment:
One hour per week at various times during school hours.
Group Volunteering:
Groups and volunteer teams are welcome.
Recommended For:
Students in the fields of mental health, criminal justice, psychology sociology, human services, education and social work, as well as others
Benefits:
Volunteers gain insight into working with children, while meeting new people and forming positive relationships.
